Take a Class

Sumunar Dance Ensemble

Students in this class learn both traditional and modern Indonesian dance, and are invited to perform as a member of the Sumunar Dance Ensemble.  Beginning students are invited to join this mixed-level class, and enrollment is welcome throughout the term.

Everyone is welcome. No previous musical experience necessary. Please join us!
Note: No class April 8 (Sumunar Ensemble rehearsal). On April 29 students are invited to participate in the recital of the U of M gamelan class

Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble

Members of the Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble continue to build their skills while rehearsing for performances around the Twin Cities and the region.  Repertoire includes both traditional Javanese music and new compositions, and often accompanies dance or shadow puppetry.
